Illawarra OWN (Older Women's Network) is an organisation run by and for older women. It facilitates skills development and self-empowerment. It promotes the state of wellbeing through exercise programs (see Illawarra OWN Wellness Centre program on website) and encourages friendship, mutual support and companionship among older women. OWN lobbies and advocates for older women on issues such as health, income security, transport, violence and abuse and affordable housing.
