National Auslan Booking Service (NABS)
Description
NABS provides interpreters Australia wide to Deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing people who use sign language. NABS is free to people who are over 65 (with no NDIS - National Disability Insurance Scheme) for GP, specialists and specified health consultations.
NABS can provide interpreting at a cost to all other individuals including NDIS participants. NABS also offers Video Remote Interpreting, which allows sign language users and service providers to communicate using the internet when an interpreter cannot be onsite at the appointment. NABS is an activity of Wesley Mission Queensland.
