Very Special Kids supports families throughout their experience of caring for children with life-threatening conditions; from diagnosis through to recovery or bereavement. This support includes counselling; sibling support; trained volunteers & bereavement support. Very Special Kids Hospice is Australia's first children's hospice & respite centre offering respite; transition & end-of-life care. This is an 8 bed facility staffed with registered nurses; trained carers; volunteers & a doctor on call 24 hours, 7 days per week.
