The service provides seven types of respite (short breaks) to meet the needs of the whole family. The person must have a moderate to severe developmental and/or physical disability, live in the Newcastle or Lake Macquarie local Government area, and the carer must be receiving Carers Allowance or Disability Pension. The Home Support Physiotherapy provides physiotherapy, assessment and review, and orthotics for children to 6 years at risk of developmental delay; with home-based support and education for the parent or carer. Support groups for parents of children with disabilities meet regularly. People with Individual Funding Packages are welcome to purchase a tailored program.
