Description

Provides advocacy support to all people with a disability including mental illness and their carers in the Hunter, New England, Central West and Mid North Coast regions. DA also has a specialist role in relation to National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) decisions. DA employs specialist support workers (NDIS Appeals Officers) in the Hunter, NE and Nepean/Blue Mountains regions to support people who wish to challenge NDIS decisions in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT).

The AAT has power to examine a wide range of decisions by NDIS, including who is able to participate in the NDIS and what types of support are provided to NDIS participants.
