Accessible Travel Online Resources IDEAS Board member and newly appointed Chair, Martin Heng, leads a double life as Accessible Travel Manager for Lonely Planet. As part of this role, he collates Lonely Planet’s Accessible Travel Online Resources guide which is a free downloadable pdf. It is updated twice a year and contains a wealth of information and links to government websites, non-government organisations (NGOs) and private businesses, personal travel blogs, and general resources. It is a great place to start exploring the world around you and to assist you in planning your next epic travel adventure!

The progressive disease has meant her modes of transport have changed from a cane to a motorised wheelchair. Her disability hasn’t stopped her from travelling, it has just changed how she gets to a destination.

She shares her extensive travel research through her blog, Incredible Accessible. The majority of her posts are based in California in the USA but she provides great insights and resources on travelling with a wheelchair.

There is an extensive list of tips on car hire, travel insurance, wheelchair tips, airlines and things to know before you travel.
